Greg@gregwrites_yy · Sep 6I just joined the Points Program from @2FactorFinance, and I wanted to break down what it is in plain words Normally, if you want extra exposure to an asset (like getting more upside than just holding it), you'd have to watch it closely every day so it doesn't get liquidated, or it slowly loses value the longer you hold it. 2Factor Finance is trying to fix that. Here's how: they take the price swings of an asset and split them into two pieces. One piece is the "safe" side. It gives up some of the ups and downs, but in return, it earns a steady payment. The other piece is the "boosted" side. It gets stronger exposure to the price moves, but without the scary liquidation risk, and without needing some outside company to hedge it. The boosted side pays the safe side for taking on less risk. That's basically the whole trade. And because of how it's built, this setup is meant to actually last months or years, instead of falling apart after a few days or weeks like a lot of similar products do. Right now, they're testing this on Bitcoin, and only on testnet. But the idea could work for other assets too, especially ones that tend to grow over long periods. I like this because I'm a long-term holder anyway, so a product built for patience instead of quick trades makes more sense to me Now, about the Points Program: Points are called "Marks." And the important part is you only get Marks by doing stuff. Things like: 1. Being active on social media 2. Learning about the project 3. Inviting friends (referrals) You do NOT get Marks just for depositing money, buying anything, or holding a token because there's nothing to buy here. This is Season 1, and it ends the moment 2Factor Finance officially launches. At that exact moment, the leaderboard freezes. The top 10 people on that leaderboard split 1 BTC (paid out as cbBTC), based on their rank. To be super clear: Marks have no cash value on their own, can't be transferred, and don't represent ownership of anything. They're just a way to track your rank on the leaderboard. Why I signed up for this is because the rules are simple, the actions are simple, and everything is public and transparent. You do things, you earn Marks, you see your rank grow.
