Tajwan Tamim@tajwan_tamim · Oct 21Choosing a lending project shouldn’t come down to APR alone. The rate might catch your attention, but the real question is whether you understand the terms, the repayment structure, and the risks behind it. For Week 5 of my journey with @eightlends, I’m focusing on why I chose Loan Originator, the project I selected for the $100 lending plan. The listed 22.90% APR and 7 month term were part of the initial appeal, but they weren’t the only things worth looking at. I also wanted to understand the project details, how repayments are structured, and what information is available to assess the lending opportunity before committing funds. Another important part of this journey is verification. Reviewing completed projects and checking transaction history through Basescan helps me understand what has happened onchain in the past, rather than relying only on what a dashboard displays. Of course, previous repayments don’t guarantee future performance. Now my focus is on tracking the position, understanding how the experience unfolds, and being honest about both the positives and the risks. I’m documenting the process step by step because a lending decision should be based on more than an attractive number. Explore 8lends here: https://app.8lends.io/en?referral=491BXK Research first. Verify what you can. Never treat APR as a guaranteed return.

Tajwan Tamim@tajwan_tamim · Oct 9Week 4 of my journey with @eightlends, and this is where the research moves into the investment stage. The $100 lending position is now in place, with Loan Originator showing a 22.90% lending APR and a 7-month term. Before moving forward, the details I wanted to understand were the APR, loan duration, repayment structure, and the project itself. A headline rate can catch your attention, but understanding the terms and the risks matters much more. Now the next part is tracking what happens over time and comparing the displayed information with the actual results. I’ll be following the journey rather than assuming the outcome in advance. For transparency, this position is part of the project-provided campaign account, not a personal $100 deposit from me. Also, 8lends has a quiz with $250 in total rewards for 5 winners. If more than 5 participants achieve the same score, winners will be selected randomly among those tied at that score. Take the quiz here: https://forms.gle/nvSF24eS6ZK6vJBu5 Explore the platform : https://app.8lends.io/fr?referral=5BUTBY The real test now is what the numbers and repayment history show over time.

Tajwan Tamim@tajwan_tamim · Sep 30Week 3 of my 8lends journey. At this stage, I’m less interested in simply hearing what a platform can offer and more interested in asking the questions that actually matter before putting capital to work. That’s why I’m looking forward to this week’s 8lends AMA with @eightlends I’ve been going through the platform, the investment structure and the way projects are presented, and there are still a few things I want to understand better from the people building it. How are projects evaluated before they reach investors? How does the collateral structure work in practice? What happens when a borrower has a payment problem? And how should investors think about liquidity when they want to exit before a loan reaches maturity? These are the kinds of questions I think are more useful than simply focusing on the headline APR. If you have something you want the 8lends team to answer, you can submit your question here: http://forms.gle/4mYono1dCxo19jGk9 I’ll be following the AMA as part of my 8-week research journey and paying attention to the answers, not just the presentation. If you want to explore 8lends yourself Link: https://app.8lends.io/fr?referral=5BUTBY Still researching. Still asking questions. The goal is to understand the full picture before making my first investment.

Tajwan Tamim@tajwan_tamim · Sep 21Week 2 of my @eightlends journey, and this week I wanted to focus on the part most people probably overlook: the actual onboarding experience. Before putting money into any lending platform, I want to understand what I’m actually signing up for. How does the wallet connection work? What verification is required? Which network and assets are used? And most importantly, what happens to my funds once I move from research to investing? Going through 8lends, I found that the platform is built around the Base network and uses USDC for investments, with a minimum investment of $100. The onboarding also includes automated AML checks, while KYC requirements depend on the investment amount. What I’m paying attention to isn't just how simple the interface looks. I want to understand the process behind it and what I can independently verify before making my first investment. This is still the research stage of my 8-week journey. Next, I’ll be looking deeper into the available projects, their terms and the onchain history before deciding where my first $100 goes. If you want to explore the platform alongside me, here’s the link for signup: https://app.8lends.io/en?referral=491BXK I’ll keep documenting the journey as I move from research to actually using the platform.
